Géoviz 2018

Géoviz 2018

Supported by the "GeoViz" prospective action of GDR MAGIS, this CNRS thematic school proposes to question the practices of different communities in the field of data science, on data visualization issues by emphasizing their spatial and temporal dimensions, integrating both methodological points of view and technological environments used.

The school will be articulated between courses (theoretical bases of visualization, forms of space and time, Human-Machine Interactions) and workshops allowing the learning of major environments for the development of exploration environments.

The school is aimed at researchers, engineers and doctoral students whose research questions lead them to question SHS-oriented data and who wish to go beyond their usual practices by confronting them with others. The school is above all interdisciplinary and wishes to bring together practitioners:

humanities and social sciences already experienced in data processing and visualization and wishing to integrate new practices
fields of data sciences wishing to integrate thematic questions and spatio-temporal data processing methodologies.

The school has been awarded the "CNRS Thematic School" label.

Maj : Following several requests, pre-registrations for the next GDR MAGIS school on "Geovisualization and visual analysis of spatial and temporal data" are re-opened until 26 June 2018.
The school is labelled "thematic school" by the CNRS and will take place from 15 to 19 October 2018 in Aussois. http://geoviz.sciencesconf.org
