The venue of Pr. Luca Muscarà is envisioned as a timely collaboration to develop international research studies in the field of the history of geographical thought, environmental transitions and migration crisis at Pacte Social Sciences Research Center (Environments and Social Justice Research Groups). It is also an opportunity to develop classes on political geography along with these contemporary challenges, especially in cooperation with the English spoken master degree International Development Studies. Taken advantage of his famous knowledge of the history of geographical ideas (especially the life and works of the geographer Jean Gottmann) and his fine understanding of contemporary challenges in this historical perspective, Luca Muscarà will bring decisive in-puts to foster original discussions in these fields and support collective editorial and research projects.
