Thesis abstract : School bullying is a social phenomenon that has not yet been extensively studied in sociology. However, the first results from the master's thesis tend to make the assumption that it is possible to carry out a sociological analysis of bullying, particularly using network analysis techniques. Using a mixed methodology (quanti/quali), and through a longitudinal approach, the description and analysis of middle-school experience through the prism of social relations (friendly or hostile), makes it possible to empirically show the sociological implications of conflicts between peers (and therefore those of school bullying). In this thesis, we follow a cohort of pupils from their entry in 5th grade until the end of the 8th grade of four different middle-schools. Each student entering 6th grade in these four middle-schools will be included in the survey and then followed up by ethnography, questionnaire (and some by interviews) twice a year. In total, this makes 8 waves of investigation to analyse the structures of social relations and their evolutions throughout the experience of middle-school.
